1974 Ford Pinto - Sport Accent

I had the spots repaired professionally in 2002, and have not had any further problems.

The original owner had kept it in a barn with about three dozen other Pintos. He owned it for the first 27 years.

The person I bought it off of said he had maintenance records on the car in a file about two inches thick.

The car has always been garage kept since I have owned it and I think it has been rained on maybe half-a dozen times in nine years.

My first Pinto from high school (around 1978) was so badly rusted when I traded it in that I have always had a morbid fear of rust.

I have kept the car maintained and I am currently running 10W/40 synthetic oil.

I have put a little over 2K miles on it since I bought it, now has 64K miles.

I converted the ignition over to Pertronix and the A/C was converted to 134A but it needs recharging.

It had a new steering rack and rag joint installed two years ago.

I bought five new tires in 2002 - and the spare has not been on the ground.

I installed new speakers in the kick panels - the dash speaker still worked fine, I just wanted more sound.

I found a green driver side armrest on EBay to replace a broken one.

I also installed a black dash pad cover on the dash because of a small crack - it looks pretty good.

So the interior is mostly green with black accents.

Some of these pictures were taken in 2005 and I can guarantee that the car has not changed in the past five years. I did not want to move too far from stock.

Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed the car - it has honestly been the best Pinto of the three that I have owned.
