Welcome Tommys, I Really! like the the custom bumpers on the V8 Pinto.

HELLO, I'M TOMMYS. I HAVE RECENTLY BEEN ACTIVE ON FORDPINTO.COM THANKS TO COOKIEBOY FOR LETTING ME BE ON HIS SITE.


THESE ARE A FEW SHOTS OF MY 1980 V8 PINTO. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR SINCE THE YEAR THAT I GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL IN 1988. IT HAS BEEN TO ALL 3 OF OUR CLASS REUNIONS.


MY REPUTATION IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE GUY WITH BLUE V8 PINTO. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAVEN'T MOVED ANYWHERE IN THE LAST 20+ YEARS.


I HAVE DONE MANY DIIFERENT MODS TO IT OVER THE YEARS,MOST RECENTLY GETTING IT PAINTED. THE CAR RUNS ON A 1971 302/C4 AUTO FROM A TORINO (RIP) THAT I USED TO HAVE. IT IS A 0.30 OVER WITH A CRANE CAM, 351 WINDSOR HEADS W/ROLLER ROCKERS, FULL ROLLER TIMING CHAIN, EDELBROCK PERF.RPM INTAKE, AND A HOLLEY 750CFM CARB. ON TOP.


THE MOTOR HAS BEEN IN THE CAR FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND IS BADLY NEEDING TO BE CLEANED, RESEALED AND PAINTED. THE TRANNY DOES HAVE A SHIFT KIT AND THE 411 GEAR GIVES IT A REALLY FIRM SHIFT THROUGH THE GEARS. I LOVE TO HEAR THE REAR TIRES CHIRP WHEN IT HITS A GEAR.


THE INTERIOR IS STOCK WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE SEATS (FRONT & REAR) WHICH I TOOK FROM A 1988 MUSTANG. THE CARPET AND CENTER CONSOLE ARE FROM A 1978 MUSTANG II. IT HAS A DESCENT STEREO AND LIGHTLY TINTED WINDOWS.


THE WHEELS WERE PURCHASED IN THE EARLY 1990'S AND ARE STILL IN GREAT SHAPE. IT SPORTS BFG RADIAL T/AS'275/50-15 REARS AND 215/60-15 FRONTS. ALL SPRINGS AND BUSHINGS WERE REPLACED WHEN CAR WAS FIRST PUT TOGETHER WITH THE V8.


AFTER A LOT OF THOUGHT AND DEBATE I RECENTLY INSTALLED SOME BLUE NEONS UNDER THE CAR FOR SOME ATTENTION AT CAR SHOWS. I REALLY LIKE THEM NOW AFTER I SEEN THEM AT NIGHT.


FUTURE PROJECTS ARE GOING TO BE REDOING THE ENGINE WITH A LOT MORE CHROME THAN I HAVE NOW. I ALSO WANT TO UPGRADE MY BRAKE SYSTEM TO DRILLED/SLOTTED 11" ROTORS AND A MASTER CYLINDER BY CLASSIC PERFORMANCE PARTS.


THESE ARE SOME PICS OF MY OTHER PINTO. I FOUND THIS CAR IN A FIELD AT A FRIENDS PARTY ONE SUMMER. I TRADED HIM A T-BIRD FOR IT. THIS ONE IS A 1978 WITH A ORIGINAL 2.3L 4SPEED. IT HAS JUST OVER 100K ON IT. RUNS REALLY GOOD AND IS MY WINTER CAR. I HAVE NOT MODIFIED TOO MUCH ON THIS CAR SINCE OWNING IT.


I PUT A SET OF 14" CRAGAR SST'S ON IT (MY FAVORITE WHEEL) I HAVE 195/70-14 VREDESTEIN QUATRAC II TIRES ON IT. THIS THING IS UNBELIEVABLE IN THE SNOW AND RAIN WITH THESE TIRES.


THE INTERIOR IS BLACK AND IN DESCENT CONDITION FOR BEING ALL ORIGINAL. I CHANGED THE STEERING WHEEL AND PUT A GOOD STEREO SYSTEM IN IT.


I HAVE CLEANED AND SEALED THE ENGINE. I INSTALLED A NEW CLUTCH WHILE I HAD THE ENGINE OUT. I ALSO PUT A WHOLE COMPLETE NEW BRAKE SYSTEM FRONT TO REAR. I ALSO ADDED THE POWER BOOSTER.

FUTURE PLANS FOR THIS CAR WOULD BE TO MAKE IT A TURBO-PINTO. I HAVE A 1988 THUNDERBIRD TURBO COUPE FOR ALL OF THE NECESSARY PARTS TO CHANGE IT OVER.
